An Ode to Fire Crews

The latest status update from Cal Fire, "Fire personnel made good progress in their fire fighting efforts overnight due to favorable weather conditions. Access to the northern part of the fire remains challenging because of steep terrain and narrow roads, but firefighters will continue to build on the progress they made today with even more control lines being established."

Now that we're at 60% containment we would like to take a moment to reflect on just how much we appreciate the 5,245 personnel tasked to battling the Kincade Fire. They worked around the clock to ensure the safety of our homes and towns and we couldn't be more grateful. Over the past week we've been wondering how the Kincade Fire measures up against the Tubbs fire of 2017. Here's a palatable infographic with information from Cal Fire to help you see just how big of a difference preparedness and evacuations can make. We're all in this together, Sonoma County Strong.
